Lake Elsinore… is a city in western Riverside County with a population of over 54,000 (slated growth to 200,000 over time). The lake is the largest natural fresh water lake in Southern California. Lake Elsinore is bordered by the Elsinore Mountains to the west, which are a part of the larger Santa Ana Mountain Range, and receive a few inches of snowfall a few days each year. Included in the Santa Ana Mountains is the Cleveland National Forest and El Cariso. Lake Elsinore is north-west of Murrieta and the northern portion is part of the Temescal Canyon. Lake Elsinore is close to the major areas of Southern California including Palm Springs, San Diego, Orange County, Los Angeles. The Convention and Visitors Bureau of Lake Elsinore created a marketing effort called “Dream Extreme” which highlights and promotes the numerous outdoor activities the city is known for. With a mix of available sports such as moto-cross, mountain biking, sky diving, hang gliding, water skiing, jet skiing, boating, soccer, baseball and many others that are well-known and associated with Lake Elsinore. Lake Elsinore even has its own Minor League Baseball Team, The Storm.
Shopping: There are numerous choices for shopping in the Lake Elsinore area. The Lake Elsinore Outlets has close to 100 stores available and close by. In surrounding areas (Murrieta, Temecula, Corona) there are a number of malls and other stores to choose from as well.
